Oral surgery
In our dental clinic in the 2nd district, we provide high-quality, modern care for our patients. Our expert team uses the latest technologies and procedures to ensure every intervention is as comfortable and effective as possible. We place great emphasis on pain-free treatment. We use personalized anesthesia for each patient to ensure the procedure is as painless as possible. Before administering the anesthetic, we even numb the gum with a special, fruit-flavored gel.
The process of oral surgery and the procedures before and after:
- Consultation about general health and dental issues.
- Examination of teeth and oral cavity.
- Taking X-rays or CT scans.
- Discussing the treatment plan with the patient. We provide comprehensive answers to all questions. (There are no bad or unnecessary questions!)
- Signing of consent form by the patient. Please read the text carefully before signing! (Of course, we can still discuss any questions that may arise.)
- Anesthesia.
- Performing the procedure.
- Informing the patient about post-treatment care. We also provide written documentation about this. We write prescriptions (if necessary). We provide medical certificates (for school, insurance, etc.) if the patient requests. We also schedule the next appointment (suture removal, check-up, treatment continuation, etc.).
Oral surgery treatments
Tooth Extraction
In modern dental care, the most important thing is to try to save every tooth if possible. Unfortunately, this is not always feasible. In such cases, we offer solutions for both simple and complex tooth extractions. Of course, we also provide information about options for replacing the missing tooth.
Surgical Tooth Removal
Rarely, due to anatomical reasons, tooth extraction cannot be performed simply. In these cases, surgical tooth removal is necessary. This procedure takes slightly longer and is more complex than a simple extraction. It requires special tools, advanced professional knowledge, and suture removal after 1-2 weeks. Generally, healing also takes longer, and to expedite this, antibiotics and pain relievers are usually needed.
Wisdom Tooth Surgical Removal
Wisdom teeth often cause problems, and the solution is usually extraction. In fortunate cases, this can be done with a simple extraction. However, in many cases, surgery is necessary. The procedure and post-operative care instructions for this intervention are entirely the same as those mentioned for surgical tooth removal.
Closure of Opened Maxillary Sinus
Very rarely, during upper tooth extraction, the maxillary sinus may open. (Our dentists always check for this after upper tooth removal.) If this happens, you don’t need to go anywhere else, as our clinic has all the conditions to close the sinus, and we will perform this for you.
Implantation (implanting or artificial tooth root placement)
Implantation is an excellent solution for replacing missing teeth. The advantage of implants is that neighboring teeth don’t need to be ground down, and fixed (non-removable) dental prostheses can be made even when there aren’t enough natural teeth available. Another advantage is that although its placement is surgical, the procedure is quick, painless, and the recovery period is usually short. The disadvantage is that the dental prosthesis can only be prepared after a longer waiting period compared to traditional methods (like dental bridges). During this time, the patient unfortunately has to live with the missing tooth. (Removable, temporary prostheses can be made.) It’s important to note that if there isn’t enough bone available, bone grafting is necessary.
Bone Grafting
Bone graft material placement is necessary when there isn’t enough natural bone available for implant placement. There are many types of bone grafting procedures. After thorough evaluation of the CT scan, the oral surgeon decides exactly which type is needed. This also determines the final price, so we always provide a custom quote for each specific case. It’s important to mention that although bone grafting procedures have improved significantly recently, there is still a high rate of unsuccessful interventions, and both the procedure and healing period are longer. Patients need to consider these factors and possibly decide on another dental prosthesis method if they don’t want to take the risk and discomfort.
Soft Tissue Inflammation Treatment
In certain cases, it may be necessary to open an abscess that forms around an inflamed tooth root. For inflammation of the gum around a partially erupted wisdom tooth, medication placement may be needed. In the above cases, antibiotic use is often necessary.
Gum Surgery, Crown Lengthening
To prevent gum inflammation around partially erupted wisdom teeth, gum cutting (release) is often the solution. Reducing gums that have grown over teeth or into cavities (crown lengthening) is also often necessary. Releasing the lowered labial or lingual frenulum in children is also part of our task, which often becomes important in relation to orthodontic treatment.
Soft Tissue Lesion Treatment
In our clinic, we professionally diagnose and treat oral soft tissue lesions, including small benign tumors and growths. Our goal is to remove these lesions using minimally invasive methods, preserving the integrity of surrounding tissues.
Salivary Stone and Salivary Gland Problem Treatment
Salivary stones and other salivary gland problems can cause unpleasant symptoms. With our specialized treatment methods, we effectively treat these conditions, restoring normal salivary gland function. In cases of minor salivary gland problems, they can also be removed through a simple soft tissue surgery.
During our oral surgery services, we pay special attention to patient comfort and safety. We provide comprehensive information in all cases and answer all questions that arise. We use modern pain relief techniques and provide personalized aftercare following every procedure. Our goal is for our patients to regain their oral health and smile as quickly as possible.
